A little about me...

I was born in the beautiful tear drop island of  Sri Lanka in South Asia to an aristocratic Mother from Colombo, and a hardworking Puerto Rican Father from New York City.  I left Colombo when I was a tiny three old and moved to the Caribbean to another Island called Puerto Rico.  I lived in Puerto Rico until I was eighteen.  My culinary journey started when I was Nine years old and my parents thought it was a great idea for me to take turns cooking with my older brother on the weekends.  I remember the excitement of being in the kitchen and smelling all the amazing spices.  I was never intimidated by the pots and pans or the knives... I wanted to immediately dive in and my Mom said I had to be patient and learn from the bottom up.  So spaghetti was my very first dish that I learned to make, and I love it till this day.  After spaghetti, I learned how to cook Puerto Rican food, and then Sri Lankan food which is spicy and flavorful and another of my favorite foods to cook.  At the age of 18 I went to Boston, Masachusettes where I attended a Private Women's College, and from there I moved to Sardinia, Italy.  My love affair with pasta continued in Italy.  Sardinia opened up my eyes and tastebuds to so many Italian dishes, as well as other Mediterranean dishes and wines. I was fortunate to have lived in the Italian Riviera as well, in a beautiful sea side village called Lerici which is a province of La Spezia.  I have to say Italy definitely has my heart and you can see the influences in a lot of my pasta dishes.  I love Global Cuisine too and I specialize in fusion .  I concentrate on Organic, locally sourced foods and aromatic spices.  For me the quality of the foods I cook has to be very high and I love creating new recipes and dishes on the daily.  Thank you for joining me on this tasty culinary journey.  I promise to keep you hungry and longing for more delectable and unique tasting dishes...
